Emirates American for Medical Services, LLC was established in 2007 as a holding company for a joint partnership between H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Dr. Aly Abdel Razek, M.D. President and Chairman of Medical Resources International. They envisioned and founded this State of the Art comprehensive cancer treatment center known as the Gulf International Cancer Center a subsidiary now operated, managed and chaired by Proton Partners International Healthcare LLC, (PPIHC) since 2016.

The GICC in Abu Dhabi introduced the first digital PET/CT scanner in UAE, which detects even smaller lesion with less injection radioactive glucose.
